Loved this piece! Growing up in ‘Burque I could relate to almost everything! For those who hear it, they may not be able to relate, but you paint a vivid picture with your words which brings your poem to life.
The imagery is fantastic, you words powerful. I’m glad that your voice is available, those who hear this will understand more completely your story. Salude.
Absolutely loved this poem. While we all may have very different stories, it is those small moments of life that not only connect us, but also define us. I believe that it is those very moments of the little things in life like food, fishing, and the zoo that remind us in our darkest times of our humanity; they are the light at the end of the tunnel. Kudos, V, this was very moving and painted a beautiful, real portrait of the local culture.
